Atrophy of supra- and infraspinatus muscles

Atrophy of supra- and infraspinatus muscles
The photograph above is of a 55-year-old woman with chronic suprascapular neuropathy. This image was taken 5 years after electromyography confirmed entrapment of the nerve at the transverse scapular ligament, which was treated nonoperatively. Note the marked atrophy of the right infraspinatus and supraspinatus muscles, accentuated by the prominence of the right scapula.
