Gastrocnemius tear hematoma ultrasound

Gastrocnemius tear hematoma ultrasound
The top image is a longitudinal ultrasound scan of the medial calf showing a 14-cm-long hematoma (asterisk) associated with a high-grade medial gastrocnemius (delta) tear. A distal tear (arrow) is seen at the myofascial junction. The bottom image is a transverse view of the same tear and hematoma (asterisk) and shows that it extends across the entire gastrocnemius (delta).
