Nasal pillows II

This figure represents a typical nasal mask. This is comprised of nasal prongs made of pliable material which rest at the base or just inside of the nares (thick arrow). Nasal masks typically come with headstraps to ensure that the device is secured and sealed. Sometimes patients may need to also wear a chin strap to reduce air leak via the mouth. A single port is typical and is attached to the noninvasive ventilator with tubing (arrow).
