Gingival inclusion cysts (Bohn nodules) in a newborn infant

Epithelial inclusion cysts (also called Bohn nodules) appear as white or translucent, round papules along the gingival ridges. They are thought to arise from fusion abnormalities or remnants of minor mucous salivary glands.
