HCV: hepatitis C virus; HSV: herpes simplex virus; LGV: lymphogranuloma venereum; NAAT: nucleic acid amplification test; PCR: polymerase chain reaction; RPR: rapid plasma reagin.

* Diagnostic tests for sexually transmitted infections include anal swabs for gonorrhea (NAAT or culture), chlamydia (NAAT), herpes simplex virus (PCR or culture); and peripheral blood for syphilis serology. If the chlamydia NAAT is positive, LGV PCR should be performed if available.
