The upper figure (A) shows a cross section of the hand with the lower figures showing the corresponding dorsal (A,B) and volar (C,D) skin incisions for the fasciotomy. The dorsal incisions (I,II) provide access to the interosseous compartment. The thenar and hypothenar muscles can be accessed using volar incisions (III,IV).
