Aortic infection

Aortic infection
The images are from a woman in her late sixties who presented with about a two-month history of fever, night sweats, and unintentional weight loss. A noncontrast CT scan of the chest (sagittal images; A,B) demonstrated air in the aortic wall (white and black arrows) consistent with an aortic infection.
CT: computed tomography.
