Partial injury anterior urethra

Partial injury anterior urethra
The retrograde urethrogram shows a partial anterior urethral injury. Contrast extravasation can be seen from the bulbar urethra (arrow). Normal external sphincter coaptation following retrograde passage of contrast fluid (dashed arrow) should not be confused with a stricture/stenosis. To examine the urethra proximal to the external sphincter, a voiding cystogram is needed since the posterior urethra is best seen during antegrade voiding.
