Lateral pelvic tilt at mid-stance during gait

Lateral pelvic tilt at mid-stance during gait
During gait, lateral pelvic tilt reaches its maximum extent at mid-stance. The side of the pelvis in the midst of the swing phase lowers, while the hip abductors on the stance side control this descent. The white line extending across the top of the pelvis shows the degree of pelvic tilt. A normal degree of pelvic tilt is shown above.

(A) Right side stance.
(B) Left side stance.
