Fluorescein testing for bowel viability
The intraoperative image shows the appearance of the bowel after the injection of fluorescein. With ultraviolet light from a Wood's lamp, the viable, well-perfused portions of bowel fluoresce bright green. The dusky portion that is not perfused will require resection.
