Malperfusion in aortic dissection from static obstruction

Static obstruction of aortic branch vessels can occur as aortic dissection extends distally and compresses the origin of the vessel as shown. Depending upon the location of the intimal flap, dissection can extend directly into the branch vessel as well (not shown).
