Lumbar plexus transverse probe (lateral decubitus position)

For ultrasound-guided lumbar plexus block, the transducer is initially placed longitudinally to identify the spinous processes and is then turned 90 degrees, as shown in this photo, to obtain a transverse view of the psoas major muscle.
