Mid-esophageal four-chamber view with a focus on the mitral valve shows aliasing of the color-flow Doppler signal in diastole on the left atrial side of the mitral valve. The presence of high-velocity aliased flow through the mitral valve in diastole should prompt further evaluation of the degree of mitral stenosis.
