Subcostal transversus abdominis plane (TAP) block ultrasound probe position

For the subcostal transversus abdominis plane block, the probe is initially placed along the costal margin with the medial edge at the xiphoid process. The probe is then moved laterally along the costal margin, as shown in this photo, until the tranversus muscle is clearly visualized on ultrasound.
