SPECT/CT in melanoma

SPECT/CT in melanoma
(A) Planar images show the injection site (arrow) as well as tracer migrating toward both axillae. The location of the focal tracer uptake (arrowhead and dashed arrow) might be assumed to be bilateral axillary uptake, but it is difficult to determine on planar images alone.
(B) SPECT/CT shows focal tracer uptake in the left axilla (dashed arrow) as well as in a peri-scapular in-transit node (arrowhead) that was superimposed over the axilla on planar images.
SPECT: single-photon emission computed tomography; SPECT/CT: SPECT done concurrently with computed tomography.
