Prevention of chemotherapy-induced or postoperative nausea and vomiting; treatment of irritable bowel syndrome with diarrhea
Adults:
Irritable bowel syndrome with diarrhea: Oral (tablet):
Females: 2.5 to 5 mcg once daily (maximum: 5 mcg/day).
Males: 2.5 to 10 mcg once daily (maximum: 10 mcg/day).
Prevention of chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting:
Oral (orally disintegrating tablet): 100 mcg once daily administered 1 hour prior to chemotherapy.
IV: 300 to 600 mcg once daily (maximum: 600 mcg/day).
Prevention of postoperative nausea and/or vomiting: IV: 300 to 600 mcg once daily (maximum: 600 mcg/day).
