(A) Routine H&E staining shows epidermal atrophy and hyperkeratosis. Microblisters can be seen at the dermoepidermal junction. There are dilated vessels in the dermis.
(B) Reduction and abnormal aggregation of elastic fibers in the upper dermis can be observed with van Gieson staining.
H&E: hematoxylin and eosin.
