Blood clot in postpartum uterus

Blood clot in postpartum uterus
Patient with secondary postpartum bleeding.
(A) Transvaginal sonogram shows fluid in the endometrial cavity with some echogenic areas both anterior and posterior.
(B) Power Doppler image shows normal blood flow in the myometrium, and no blood flow to these areas in the endometrium, which is consistent with either nonvascularized retained products of conception or blood clot; however, the appearance in this case is most suggestive of blood clot.
