Contrast-enhanced MRI of the liver, demonstrating rim enhancement six weeks after transarterial chemoembolization (TACE), suggestive of disease recurrence

The lesion in segment 4 of the liver has central necrosis that is compatible with treatment; the thick rind of enhancement (arrows) is suggestive of residual disease. This lesion would be difficult to classify using any of the response evaluation criteria. The patient was retreated with a second TACE procedure.
