Myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein (MOG) antibody-associated disease (MOGAD) is an acquired inflammatory demyelinating disease with optic neuritis (ON) as the most frequent clinical symptom. The hallmark of the disease is the presence of autoantibodies against MOG (MOG-IgG) in the serum of patients.

Nonarteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy (NAION) has been reported to occur after cataract surgery. It is not clearly established whether cataract surgery increases the risk of NAION over baseline.

To describe recent cases of optic neuritis in patients who received a vaccine for COVID-19. Methods: Retrospective case series of patients diagnosed with optic neuritis after a recent COVID-19 vaccination with BNT162b2 (Pfizer-BioNTech), in one university-affiliated tertiary hospital, from January 2021 to June 2021.

Telehealth was rapidly adopted early in the COVID-19 pandemic as a way to provide medical care while reducing risk of SARS-CoV2 transmission. Since then, telehealth utilization has evolved differentially according to subspecialty.

Chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP) is an acquired, immune-mediated, and clinically heterogeneous demyelinating disease affecting the nerve roots and peripheral nerves. We report a series of 4 patients who presented with early and progressive vision loss in the context of new-onset CIDP: 3 due to papilledema and 1 due to optic neuropathy without papilledema.

Radiologic findings of intracranial hypertension (RAD-IH) are common in idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH) patients. Paralleling the increasing rates of obesity, the burden of IIH is growing. Urgent neuro-ophthalmology consultations for possible IIH in patients with incidentally detected RAD-IH are increasing, with many patients receiving unnecessary lumbar punctures (LPs) and treatments

Episodic high-altitude exposure leads to optic disc edema and retinopathy. It is uncertain whether high-altitude exposure is a risk factor for nonarteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy (NAION). Methods: We performed a single-center, retrospective, cross-sectional case study of 5 patients with high-altitude-associated NAION (HA-NAION) from April 2014 to April 2019.

Recovery from amblyopia in adulthood after fellow eye (FE) vision loss is a well-known phenomenon. Incidence of recovery varies widely following different FE pathologies, and the rate of recovery after FE ischemic optic neuropathy (ION) has not been examined.

Sequential nonarteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy (NAION) has been reported to occur in approximately 15% of patients within 5 years of the first episode. However, the incidence of presumed previous asymptomatic episode of NAION in fellow eye of patients presenting with acute NAION has not been previously reported.

Imaging diagnosis of clival cancer may be difficult, in part because of normal variation in marrow signal with aging. Identifying whether clival cancer has damaged the sixth cranial nerve is a further challenge because minimal clival abnormalities could impinge on the nerve, which travels very close to the clivus.
