To assess gender disparities in neurology researcher careers in the United States. Methods: A 34-question survey was distributed to 4,644 US-based American Academy of Neurology members who self-identified as researchers in 2020 addressing the following domains: research and funding, scholarly activities, coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) effect, and local institutional climate.

Theories assume that thalamic stroke may cause aphasia because of dysfunction in connected cortical networks. This takes into account that brain functions are organized in distributed networks, and in turn, localized damage may result in a network disorder such as thalamic aphasia.

The clinical and physiologic time course for recovery following pediatric mild traumatic brain injury (pmTBI) remains actively debated. The primary objective of the current study was to prospectively examine structural brain changes (cortical thickness and subcortical volumes) and age-at-injury effects.

AB Background and Objectives: The SLC35A2 gene, located at chromosome Xp11.23, encodes for a uridine diphosphate-galactose transporter. We describe clinical, genetic, neuroimaging, EEG, and histopathologic findings and assess possible predictors of postoperative seizure and cognitive outcome in 47 patients with refractory epilepsy and brain somatic SLC35A2 gene variants.

AB Neurologists have long recognized the importance of the visual system in the diagnosis and monitoring of neurologic disorders. This is particularly true because approximately 50% of the brain's pathways subserve afferent and efferent aspects of vision.
