Communication between patients and healthcare workers (HCWs) may on occasion be challenged by disparities in cultural background, age and educational level. Written educational material is commonly used to reduce the risk of miscommunication. However, literacy among patients may also differ and it is, therefore, speculated that the use of pictograms may improve patients’ understanding and adherence.

The presence of dermatological information on social media has grown exponentially over the last two decades. Consequently, the recent literature on this topic is abundant. Many authors have highlighted that social media constitutes a unique opportunity for patient education. Additionally, numerous other benefits of these platforms have been reported. However, other authors have focused on the potential risks that these networks involve.

Background: Since medication absorption through the skin and eye tissue seems similar, commercially available eye-drops could be used to treat skin diseases when topical therapies are unavailable or unaffordable. The FDA-approved and off-label applications of various eye drops used as topical treatments in dermatological clinical practice were highlighted in this review.

Psoriasis is considered one of the stubborn lifelong dermatologic diseases, making the patients seized in their social cage. Evidence-based clinical practice guidelines (CPGs) and expert opinions ensure that patients with psoriasis render the most recent and developed care. This systematic review assessed and compared the most recently approved international CPGs with the AGREE II instrument.

Psoriasis is a common, chronic inflammatory skin disease associated with a large number of comorbidities. Though management of moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis has greatly improved in recent years, patients with refractory disease or contraindications to available treatments still constitute therapeutic challenges. Oral roflumilast, a selective phosphodiesterase-4 (PDE-4) inhibitor, is approved for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

Psoriasis is a chronic disease that seriously impacts quality of life. There are known genetic and environmental factors that influence its onset and progression. Even though there is no cure for it, there are a variety of treatments available today to control its symptoms, although many of them fail to do so substantially.

Kaposi's sarcoma (KS) is a low-grade angioproliferative tumor arising from endothelial cells and associated with Human Herpes Virus 8 infection. Although there are considerable number of patients referred for surgical excision, the plastic surgery literature on KS is exceptionally scarce. In this study, it was aimed to emphasize the differences in the management of Kaposi's Sarcoma and help to understand the importance of a multidisciplinary approach, accordingly the sake of choosing the ideal treatment method for each lesion.

Generalized pustular psoriasis (GPP) is a rare, severe, and sometimes fatal form of childhood psoriasis. The first line therapies include acitretin, cyclosporin A, and methotrexate which take effect slowly and have varying long-term side effects for children. Recently, the anti-tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α), adalimumab has shown efficacy in adult patients with pustular psoriasis; however, there is lack of evidence of its usage in the pediatric population.

Janus Kinase inhibitors have been shown to be effective in the treatment of various dermatoses such as alopecia areata, psoriasis, vitiligo and atopic dermatitis. The Janus kinase-signal transducer and activator of transcription (JAK-STAT) pathway is a common junction for the signaling of several dermatologically significant cytokines and the inhibition of this pathway by JAK inhibitors may be broadly useful in the treatment of various other dermatological disorders.
